There is a large difference between the value of a hand in a heads up pot and that same hand’s value in a pot with many players. When heads up, you only have to beat one player, while with several players you have to beat several, and the odds are more likely that the flop has helped someone as much or better than it has helped you. With big hands that make the nuts or thereabouts this might not make as much difference, but with hands that you would bet heads up almost always (such as top pair top kicker), there is much more need for caution. Especially in limped pots, where the blinds see the flop with just about any two cards, it can be very difficult to tell what flop has helped whom. With loose tables even boards that look innocuous can result in players having two pair or better, and if the board has flush or straight potential you almost never know. For this reason, slowing down with hands like a single pair is smart. You want to play small ball poker and avoid reraising in spots where you might in small pools. This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t take the lead if checked to, but if someone is coming along you might want to take care that they aren’t slowplaying or trapping you with a hand that has yours whooped.

Many online poker players are now becoming wary about attending live poker tournaments after $358,000 was stolen in a daring midday robbery at the European Poker Tour event in Berlin on March 6th. Certainly, we have come a long way from the “wild west” days of poker during the mid-2oth century, when you had to carry a gun to the table to be sure your winnings weren’t stolen. Old pros like Doyle Brunson often tell stories of getting mugged after poker games during their early careers. But still, you don’t expect this to happen this day and age, especially on an event broadcast on live TV. Camera crews recording the tournament action got more than they bargained for when four men arrived with guns and machetes and announced that it was an armed robbery. The footage from the tournament shows players ducking for cover under tables and vying for the exit. The amateur gang was unable to get away with most of the money thanks to the intervention of one of the security guards, police said. Police have since gradually reeled in all the gang members after March 17 when one of the gang turned himself in. The Associated Press reported that Mustafa Ucarkus was arrested last Saturday as well as the fourth suspect, Jihad Chetwie, was arrested upon his return from Beirut. Hopefully, this type of thing is an isolated occurrence and doesn’t happen again.

This little mistake has cost me a lot of money over the years as I’d hit on 12 or 13, even though the dealer was showing a 4 or a 5. After a while (far too long, in my opinion), I learned that for the most part, like in online poker , my cards are totally irrelevant. What we are actually banking on when we play blackjack is that the dealer will bust, because when he does, everybody’s a winner, and it doesn’t matter what your cards are at all. The only time that it’s advisable to hit is when the dealer’s up card is a 7-10 or a face card (including an Ace) and you’re hand is lower than that card plus ten, because if he’s got a 10 (the most common value in blackjack) under his up card, he’s got you beat. Otherwise, if the dealer’s showing a card that he’ll need to draw with like in poker, the chances are he that he has a ten and will draw another ten to bust. So if play the dealer’s hand-if it looks like he’s going to bust, then it doesn’t matter what you have.

Belvoir Castle will be hosting a Fireworks display this Saturday based against the awesome back drop.
MLE Pyrotechnics is host to this for the second time and is having the show in the premise of the Duke of Rutland’s family home this will be judged by the crowds.

One of the organisers Vanessa Lawrence, said: “It’s a genuinely superb place to be hosting such a evening. The fireworks reflect magically in the H2O as they are set off from bottom of the lake.”

Visitors will be treated to several organisations from across the land vying for that extra wow factor to win over the audience’s vote.

The firms are Celebration Fireworks from Evesham, Pyromania Displays, Knaphill in Surrey and Spyrotechnics from Chesterfield a 10 or 15 min show with music will be presentation but that isn’t the close of it

Before the competition there will be a presentation to learn about the various types of pyrotechnics and see how the squads use them to make their extraordinary presentations that dance to the music.

And while visitors vote the evening will be rounded off by a spectacular pyro-musical presentation by the promoters.

The annual show, which started in 2002, Is proving to be vastly successful. Such respected titles as British Champions, British Musical Champions and Fireworks Champions has been won by the 3 leading professional firework companies

And it’s more than fireworks, a Khoom Fay or Sky Lanterns are seen to fill the sky as they gently float in the distance.

Parking and camping is available on site and visitors can arrive from 5pm so enjoy the solid food and booze accessible from approved sellers or take a picnic while unwinding in the fine-looking grounds of Belvoir Castle.

Often on the GSN tv show ‘High Stakes Poker,’ you will see a large pot on the table in which the players agree to ‘run it twice’ or ‘run two boards.’ The dealer then effectively deals out a full two sets of community cards, by which the hand is then decided. You also sometimes see the turn and river dealt twice when the money goes all in after the flop.

The main reason you see this kind of behavior is in big pots where both of the poker players agree that they’d like to have a chance to not lose the pot. Running it twice allows the opportunity that each player can then win with one of the boards, thus causing the pot to be split. This is done in the case of coin flips, as players often don’t like to race for big pots, but it also done when there is a clear favorite, as the opponent who is the favorite would prefer to get drawn out for all his money.

In most instances, when two boards are dealt, it is nearly impossible for the major favorite to lose twice, but it does give the poker player with the worst hand a better chance to split the pot. Effectively it is meant to lessen the gamble in the hand.

<![endif]--><p>You can’t have a poker <a href=”http://www.everestpoker.com/nl/”>poker</a> without food. That just leads to a bunch of angry, starving poker players. But keep in mind that the kind of food you serve can detract from the playing experience. Here are some examples of what NOT to serve:

<p>Nachos-what a mess. We had these served to us during a <a href=”http://www.everestpoker.fr”>poker</a> tournament and it was a travesty. There was nacho cheese everywhere, having to wait for people to clean off their fingers before they handled anything-not pleasant. And the smell does not make for a pleasant experience in the close quarters.

<p>Ice Cream-Are you kidding me? I had a friend whose wife decided it that it would be fun to surprise everybody with ice cream cones while we were playing <a href=”http://www.everestpoker.se”>poker</a>. It was very sweet, and we appreciated it, but it was a logistical nightmare. The attempts to play poker with one hand combined with the urgency of eating melting ice cream were a nightmare. Have you ever tried shuffling with sticky cards? I don’t recommend it.

<p>Meatballs-I know a chef who enjoys throwing poker parties, and while the food is always amazing, it doesn’t always work with a poker game. HIs meatballs and red sauce turned out to be the worst idea possible. Not only were they a huge mess, but they were so good that everyone stuffed themselves and spent the rest of the night in a lethargic haze. Except for the host, he seemed pretty alert. Maybe there was some strategy involved….</m:defjc></m:rmargin></m:lmargin></m:dispdef></m:smallfrac>
